How To Get Cheaper Trades on Moomoo

UPDATE: As of 18 September 2025, this Lucky Spin feature has been removed and the method no longer works. The moomoo points can be spent on trading coupons still, but at far less generous rates. 

I want to share a simple and quick method to earn free trading cash coupons on moomoo SG. Trading cash coupons help to lower your trading costs on this platform.

You may find this useful as a current user of moomoo, or as someone looking for a discount broker to invest/trade with.

Step 1: Claim your Free Daily Spin

This is the easiest part and costs you nothing.

  • First, open your Moomoo app and tap the "Me" icon in the bottom right corner.

  • Next, tap on "Redeem Points". This will take you to the Rewards Club page.

  • Find the "Lucky Spin" feature and tap into it. You are entitled to one free spin every single day. Make sure you claim it.

Step 2: Focus on The Gift Box

Look at the progress bar and gift box at the bottom of the spin page. This is the real prize. 

Moomoo guarantees a trading cash coupon from the gift box. Every five spins will unlock one gift box, and you can tap to open the gift box to obtain a S$2 or S$5 trading cash coupon. 

This means by simply using your free spin every day, you are guaranteed a coupon every 5 days!

Once a gift box is opened, the coupon must be used within a few days. Therefore, you should save the gift boxes and only open them before you make a stock purchase. 

Step 3: How To Use Your Coupons

This is important to understand. You should read their terms and conditions on the moomoo app for full details. The coupons are applied automatically under specific conditions:

  • They are only used on BUY orders for stocks (non-ETF and non-REIT) in the US, SG, or HK markets.

  • There is a minimum order size:

    • A S$2 coupon requires a minimum buy order of S$1,000.

    • A S$5 coupon requires a minimum buy order of S$2,500.

  • Go to Me -> Task Center.

  • Here, you can earn points through a separate daily sign-in and by completing other tasks.

  • You can then use these points on the Lucky Spin page. It costs 500 points to redeem 5 spins, which will guarantee you another coupon from the gift box.

These points can also be redeemed for other things like Moomoo merchandise, and in the past, they have even offered fractional shares.

Conclusion

Being a good investor is also about minimising costs. Last month I happened to receive a S$5 trading cash coupon from moomoo. I purchased 100 shares of DBS at $44.70, costing me S$4.87 in fees while receiving S$5 in cashback. This means that sometimes, moomoo is paying me to buy stocks.



The cashback amounts are small, but they can subsidise our trading costs nicely and add up over time.
